Now

This is a Now page. Roughly quarterly, I refresh it with what's currently taking up my attention. If you're wondering whether I'm still working on the things you saw in older posts, this is the truth source.

Work

Still running operations at Lyft / Flexdrive: 10,000+ vehicles across 14 states, 18 people on the team. My focus this quarter is on the same thing it has been for two years, which is keeping the operation tight while shipping the AI tools that take repetitive work off my team's plate.

On the side, I'm building Mooney Tunes. Custom songs for kids. The newest line is tee ball walk-up songs, which started as a one-off and stuck around.

Training

I'm in week-something of a HYROX training program, building toward the Anaheim race in December. The plan stitches together a Peloton Tread block, a HYROX-specific block, and Tonal sessions for cable-dominant strength work. Most days that means an early-morning workout before the rest of the day starts.

Building

Beyond Mooney Tunes, the active build is a fleet damage detection system that runs from a pair of AI glasses, a WhatsApp pipeline, and a vision model. It's the next iteration of the work that won an internal hackathon at Lyft last year. Most weekends it lives on my desk at home until I figure out the next problem.

Reading

Audiobooks most days, fit around training and driving. Right now: Dark Matter by Blake Crouch. The kind of book that lets you forget you're on the treadmill, which is the whole point. Up next: Recursion.

Around the house

Pam (the 2005 BMW E46) is in great shape. Things break, I fix them. The rest is top down, dogs in the back, going nowhere. The pool just finished a full restoration. A wine fridge holding steady at 55°F.
